I found a house keeping job because I finished working at the peony farm. Actually, I was fired because there were enough people.
I found this job on the backpackerboard. I think it is easy to look for jobs because a lot of company hire in summer if I chose some jobs.
There are a lot of motels and hostels in Tekapo because of sightseeing so I found this job. Moreover, it is not difficult to find side job even though working time is short because of narrow community. In addition, I need to communicate with my colleagus.
Contents of housekeeping
I think it is less difficult to work as house keeper than picking. Nevertheless, I feel hard because I do not have enough time.
House keeping job is below that.

I have to finish cleaning for 45 min or 60 min each room. There is different between check-out time, but checking in time starts from 2 p.m. so I just have 4 hours for cleaning. Additionaly, I do not have enough time when I am busy because I have to clean 6 rooms.
Time Schedule of HouseKeeping
I want to finish cleaning until 1:30 p.m.because I always start working at 9:30 a.m. Moreover, it depends on places what I work at the back packer house. Works in the backe packer hosue are replacing sheets and cleaning. It takes for one hour because my colleagues also work there.
However, my colleagues are used to cleaning so they finish doing until 1:30 p.m. and checking until 2 p.m. Eventually, I should do like that.
In addition, if I am used to working, I will work at the reception. Probably, I will start working there in one week or two weeks. I guide customers their rooms and understand where there is something.
I work like that. Nevertheless, I am not used to working there so it takes for a little long time, but I improve cleaning better. I am getting better to work and try other works. See you later.

peony(シャクヤク)ファームでの仕事が終わったので次の仕事を探して見つけたのがハウスキーピングになります。仕事が終わったというよりは半分解雇みたいな状況でしたが。加工の仕事に対して人が多かったみたいですね。
この仕事はbackpackerboardというサイトで見つけました。今の時期であればいろんな場所でファームの仕事やハウスキーピングの仕事を募集していると思うので見つけやすいとは思います。仕事を選ばなければですが。
Tekapoは観光地なので色んなモーテルやホステルがあり、ハウスキーピングの仕事も多くあると思います。また、狭いコミュニティなのでハウスキーピングの仕事時間が多少短くても他の副業は見つけやすいみたいです。もちろん職場の人たちと仲良くしておく必要があると思いますが。
ハウスキーピングの仕事内容
ハウスキーピングの仕事自体はそこまで難しくなくピッキングに比べたら楽だとは思います。ただ、時間に追われるので始めたては少し大変に感じます。
仕事内容としては以下のような感じ。
- ゴミ捨て
- シーツ交換
- ベッドメイキング
- ティーパックの補充
- 拭き掃除
- 掃除機
- モップ
これを部屋ごとに45分または60分で終わらせなければなりません。これが大変ですね。check-outの時間はバラバラですが、check-inの時間は2時からになるので掃除の時間が4時間くらいしかないですね。また、忙しいときは6部屋もやるのでほんとに時間がないですね。
ハウスキキーピングのタイムスケジュール
朝のスタートは9時半から始まり大体1時半までには掃除を終わらせたいところです。また、場所次第ではバックパッカーの仕事も追加で合ったりします。バックパッカーはシーツの交換、掃除くらいで終わりですね。これは大体1時間くらいで終わりますね。他の人も同じように手伝いますので。
ただ、私の同僚は皆慣れているので1時半くらいには終わらせて2時になる間は最終チェックをしているという感じですね。最終的には私もそこまでやる必要があると思います。
また、ある程度仕事に慣れたら受付の仕事もあるみたいです。恐らく1週間から2週間後だとは思いますが。どの部屋に何があるかある程度把握したり部屋の案内をするとは思います。
といった感じで仕事をしています。まだ、全然慣れていないので多少時間はかかっていますが少しづつ改善して時間も短くなってるのが感じられてよいですね。もっと手早くできるようになって他の仕事もできるようになったら良いなと思います。ではでは。
